Overseas expeditions
In the past few years our team has embarked on several Mediterranean expeditions to complement our knowledge of reef community from the southeastern Levant with sites further west.
Cyprus expedition (June 2013)
As part of the PERSEUS project we spend a week diving and surveying the vermetid reefs and subtidal reefs in Cyprus, mostly in the Aya Napa area in the southeast corner of the island.
Crete expedition (June 2013)
As part of the PERSEUS project we spend a week diving and surveying the intertidal and subtidal reefs in Crete, mostly on northern shores of the island.
Italy expedition (September 2014)
An ASSAMBLE grant allowed us to spend a two and a half weeks diving on the reefs of southern Italy, Naples and mostly the island of Ischia. We also running some pilot experiments on the impact of ocean acidification on whole rocky reef community on a CO2 gradient of the CO2 vents below the beautiful Castello Arragonese.
